My Experience Having My Dad Take My Senior Photos

My Experience Having My Dad Take My Senior Photos

For my senior photos my family decided to have my dad take them instead of paying a photographer. At first I was hesitant, but it turned out to be the best decision I could have made.

Most kids at my school pay a lot of money to get their senior photos taken. My dad thought he could do just as good of a job. While my dad is not a professional photographer he is extremely talented, and is always taking photos for other people. I was very hesitant to let him take my senior photos because I only have one time to get them taken and I wanted to make sure they were going to look similar to everyone elseโ€™s. Looking back, this was a silly thought because I knew my dad would do an amazing job. My mom thought it was a great idea for my dad to take my photos because he knows all my best angles and how to pose me.

I hate to admit it but my parents were right, my dad taking my photos was the best thing to do. The best part of it was that we could redo them as many times as we wanted, in as many outfits and at as many locations we wanted. We ended up having three different photoshoots, all with different outfits, and multiple locations. If we had used a professional photographer we would have only had one chance to take all of our photos.

The only downside to having my dad take my photos was it was a lot of trial and error. Since we are not professionals we did now know the prefect locations or the perfect positions. By the end of each photoshoot we were very ready to be done and go home. If we had hired a professional photographer they might have known better locations to go to.

Overall, I am so happy with how they all turned out. I was happy that we were able to take some true senior photos, but we were also able just to take some fun photos.
